The Annual Governance and Accountability Return 2022/23 is available on the Finances page, here.
Each year we prepare an Annual Governance and Accountability Return (AGAR). It will not be reviewed by the appointed auditor, as the Parish Council is applying for an ‘exemption’ for a full audit because it meets the requirements that the income and or expenditure for the year was below the £25,000 threshold (i.e. same as the previous financial year).
Any person interested, has the right to inspect and make copies of the AGAR, the accounting records for the financial year, and all books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers, receipts, and other documents.
For the year ended 31 March 2023, these documents will be available on reasonable notice by applications to Ian Hanstead, Parish Clerk, commencing on Monday 5 June 2023 until Friday 14 July 2023.
You also have the opportunity to question the appointed auditor about the accounting records, and the right to make an objection which concerns the matter in respect of which the appointed auditor could either make a public interest report or apply to the court for a declaration that an item of account is unlawful (written notice of such an object must first be given to the auditor and a copy sent to the Parish Council). The appointed auditor’s details are as follows: BDO LLP, Arcadia House, Maritime Walk, Ocean Village, Southampton SO14 3TL or councilaudits@bdo.co.uk.
The official Notice includes a summary of your rights.
