Dorset Council has issued a Notice under Section 14 [2] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 as amended. All vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists and horse riders will be prohibited from proceeding along Lane From A354 To Long Crichel, Long Crichel between A354 Salisbury Road and a point approximately 990 metres east.
The Notice is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise likelihood of danger to highway users.
It came in to operation with immediate effect and can remain in force for up to 21 days, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 29th December 2025.
This Notice will enable Scottish and Southern Power Distribution safe access to carry out emergency works due to a pole fire.
A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.

Any person who uses or permits the use of a vehicle in contravention of the Notice will be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding £1000.
