To enable Dorset Highways to carry out maintenance work, they plan to close C2 from A354 Thickthorn Cross to B3078 at Horton between 10th March and 6th April 2023. The road will be closed daily between the hours of 09:00 and 16:00 but it will be open overnight and at weekends.
During the closure periods there will be no on street parking available. Parking restrictions will be imposed to prevent waiting or parking on the roads stated above. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by this Notice may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986. If a vehicle has been towed the owner will need to contact our towing contractors Bride Valley on 01305 889421.
They will be repairing sections of road within the area marked in red indicated on the map in the official notice (see below or as a PDF download here). The diversion route is marked in blue.
In the current financial climate, the highways service has had to focus it budget on targeting the most damaged sections of road and areas with safety issues.
Confirmation of the works will be provided nearer the time to confirm the dates and closure needed.
