Members have provisionally agreed an increase in next year’s budget.
Key items to note are:
- Provision to contribute to the Local Elections in May 2024 as Parish councillors, Dorset Councillors and Police Commissioner elections fall all together and the parish must contribute to the election expenses.
- Certain administrative overheads have been increased to meet costs – insurance, village hall hire, member training to cover induction etc for any new councillors, salary pay award, initial sum for pump-priming costs before any grant if a Neighbourhood Plan is undertaken.
- Hinton Ward – unseen costs to replace a noticeboard (50% with Holt PC), increased provision for the fountain major works project.
Members will review the budget again at their January meeting to finalise the application for Precept to Dorset Council later in that month.
